The Greasers of Yoyogi Park
Went to Yoyogi Park last weekend. A local described it at "Tokyo's Central Park," but it is much smaller than Central Park in NYC. Still very enjoyable. Lots of people come out to sunbathe, play sports, and practice music. The coolest thing, I thought, was that groups of Greasers hang out at the park entrance near the Harajuku Bridge. These folks look like they are straight out of the Grease movie, and they strut around with their hair slicked back, and they dance. There are even baby greasers, which reminded me a lot of the greaser kids from the movie Cry-Baby.
